Long-form books are produced through four distinct editorial seats:

1. **Spine Keeper:** Guards plot structure and chapter beats against the outline.
2. **Voice Keeper:** Enforces POV consistency and eliminates AI-slop phrasing (`excellence-book-writing`).
3. **Continuity Reader (`/canon-check`):** Audits every character, place, and Gate reference against `CANON_LOCKED.md`.
4. **Craft Lead:** Reviews pacing, dialogue, and chapter hooks before a chapter leaves draft status.

Each seat passes a concrete file artifact — the beat map, the scene draft, and the continuity memo — rather than chat summaries. Nothing ships while a chapter carries an open continuity or voice veto.
